Brian was born In Sunderland on the 9th June 1949.

Prior to joining the Army he worked as a Coalminer at Wearmouth Colliery, Sunderland.

He was well respected and a well loved young man.

Brian died as a result of an explosion whilst on foot patrol along with his colleague Gunner Victor Husband.
