Charlie was awarded the following Medals.    The 1914/15 Star,  the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.   

Below are his original Medals.   On the 1914/15 Star he has an Oak Leaf signifying a Mention In Dispatches.

Charlie was born in New Silksworth on 6th June 1880.  In the 1901 and 1911 Census he recorded as a bricklayer.

By 1911 he had married to Ellenor and had a daughter called Lilian who was aged 4 years old.

After the war he worked at Silksworth Colliery as a Foreman Mason.
